Q: Tell us about yourself ! What city do you live in ?  Where did you grow up ?  Who are your family members ?  Where did you go to school ?  Where have you worked ?

A: Hello , my name is Jordan Ulmer, I am currently 21 years of age.  I currently live in Marion Iowa USA, this is also where I grew up.  I come from a loving christian family of six.  My Father, Karl is an Electrical Engineer at Rockwell Collins.  My mother Gretchen, is a nurse at a local medical center.  I graduated from Linn-Mar high school in 2012 and I am currently pursing a Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering from South Dakota State University (SDSU).  In high school I interned at Rockwell Collins gaining experience and insight on the technical aspects required for engineering radio technology.  While in college I have worked in a satellite image processing lab where I was introduced to satellite sensor calibration techniques through post processing image analysis.  During college I have been involved in volunteer tutoring at a local school and Sunday School at a local church for children in 1st grade through middle school.  Currently I am employed at Rockwell Collins as a Co-Op where I am exploring the practical application of digital design and verification in FPGAs.  Presently, I am actively involved in the middle school / high school ministry at my home church.

Q: What year did you start working with Volition and Action for Haiti (VAH) ?How long have you been working with VAH ?

A: I met Ricardo and Marc while I was in High School by playing soccer at Kirkwood Community College around 2010.  In October of 2015 , Ricardo contacted me and invited me to join the movement !

Q: What is your “role” ?  What are you currently doing ?  How have you helped VAH to aid the children in Haiti with Food, Clothing and Education ?

A: My first and primary role comes through Prayer #James5_16 !  In my free time I seek out resource / fundraising opportunities both personally and through social media marketing.  Currently we are in the middle of the #Christmas4Kids2015 drive in Iowa and we have raised over $400 which will be sent directly to VAH !

Q: What is your vision for VAH ?  Why are you passionate about helping the children of Haiti ?

A: Volition and Action for Haiti is a wonderful volunteer organization which I pray will bless and empower over 1-Million Children within my lifetime !  I love children and I am enthusiastic about education and technology ; but most of all I am passionate about sharing the love of Jesus Christ !

Q: What makes you excited about life ?  Where do you find inspiration?

A: The joy of the Lord literally is my strength and it’s exciting to see Him at work in the lives of children through the hands of young people and elders alike !  My inspiration comes from following christ and studying God’s word and my satisfaction comes from fulfilling my purpose in life Loving God Loving People and Doing Hard Things #LLD !!!
